This page background was inspired by Dyan Reavely. I am taking a 2nd class with her in a couple of weeks & can hardly wait!!! The background is done with distress stains and stamped with distress stain which gives a water color look to it, although these images turned out quite crisp. The cut out is from a magazine ad (ipod?) with my word & lyrics, done in white ink-love that. My current fav is Signo Uniball gel pen. Finally a K&Co flower was added using pop dots. I really like how this page came together. The black image creates total dimension. Very cool.
A great place to learn about mix media, scrap booking & all things inky. Filled with tutorials to inspire you!

Newspaper Experiment
This is an art journal page from August-obviously. I wanted to see how newspaper would do as a back ground paper. That was 5 months ago & it is holding up well. I did a white wash of gesso over it as I knew the paper would yellow if there wasn't something on top. Even with just the gesso the paper looks pretty darn good. The next step was the stencil work done with pan pastels-love them! The August ticket is from Entertainment weekly magazine. The ticket stub is a valuable lesson in achival safety. The stub is now almost completely gone, it turned black. I should have used a copy & will do so from now on. The good news is I have seen 3 more movies from my list & own a 4th. Add an interactive list into your art journal page today!

Time Page
Here is a page I did back in August. I can't believe it was that long ago but time just flies by! I do try to stop in my hectic life so I can slow time down just a little. This page was inspired by that concept. It is made with Faber Castell gelatos (love them) and big pitt pen. Take time-just breathe!

A Bit of Art Journal
This is a page from my November daily art journal I am still working on. I like the concept of daily art journaling but not sure I need one more pressure on me right now. I am working on a daily-ish smash book now to see which I prefer. It is more portable & can be done while waiting in car pool line.
This page was created with stamps & water color. I love the decorated tape in the middle. I made this book with water color paper & just glued it together. The tape keeps the ink, paint, whatever from leaking through to the other pages. Sometimes I use masking tape or tissue tape & hide it with gesso. Sometimes it becomes a part of the page. Got to love Michael' s $1 bins!!!!
Trying to lighten up on the load I seem to put on myself. Do you do that? Add things until your list is impossible & destined to fail. Yup trying to focus on what I am accomplishing instead of the old, long, never ending "to do list". In my daily agenda, for example I have a box of what I did get done-like today I blogged- yay celebrate the victory!!!

I'm Back!
Wow I can't believe it's been a month since I've blogged but it is definitely time to get back in the swing of things. Ever feel like you sabotage your self?? Well let's see. make a bunch of tags, work hard on the blog, get a lot of extra hits & run away!!! Brilliant timing. I am back & rolling with it so here we go.
Starting with a simple layout I did of my niece Kelsei & her baby. A beautiful piece of Bo Bunny paper. A spritz of glimmer mist with a Crafters Workshop stencil. Flowers & bling. Doesn't it feel good to get a photo on a scrap book page? Ah cross that off my list.
