Jazzing up Dyalog Pages with Eileen Hull Embellishments

Today we are jazzing up some Dyalog pages using Eileen Hull embellishments. Last week I made the cover and this week I have a few simple ideas for you on how to decorate those pages on the inside.

Here is the inside cover of my book. I love that Dyan Reaveley has come out with a few different books with pre-designed backgrounds. Her washi tape seen at the bottom of this page is so cool & everything co-ordinates.

I decided to tear some out (gasp) & use the paper to jazz up my the inside of my new journal book.

Here is what I cut out showing the dies. They came from a few of Eileen's sets, they will be in the supply list below. Basically using the Bookplate die I cut both the pocket & the tag. The pink flower is one of Dyan's stamps on her paper. Eileen has so many cute flower & leaf dies & the quote "Moments" looks brilliant cut out of these papers!

Here is a page inside the Dyalog Background book. The tag was cut with the same die as above. Let's talk about how I got the flowers & rick rack done .

Start with die cuts from card stock. These are going to be colored using Eileen's Color Blends.

This was so quick & easy to do! Prime the blends on a palette paper or waste from double sided adhesive. Eileen has a quick video showing how to work with these blends here.I used the same color combinations that are on the background pages from the Dyalog Book. Once they were dry I added some stencil work using Dyan's stencils. Again the blends make it so quick & easy. I cut the flowers in half in some places & used them to decorate the pocket & tag above & below.

Here is a before on the left & after on the right, the inside back cover of my book.

This is how I made the pocket using the card box die. Simply fold your paper in half & line it up with the crease line on the side so the die cuts the right edge only.

You end up with a cut that looks like this. Either cut it down the middle & use as 2 pockets or tape the bottom & edge then use it as a pocket tip in. I used the yellow paper for the pockets in the pictures shown above.

This is my new book to house my growing stash of Dyalog Journals. I did a full tutorial last week which you can see here. Thanks so much for joining me today!
